Professor Bao has successfully undertaken projects through 10 terms,, including the NSFC Projects，Jilin Province Natural Science Foundation Project, National Public Welfare Project of Agriculture Ministry and the National Social Science Fund Project. The course Ecology in Humanistic Perspective Prof. Bao opened has been rated as the National Quality Course and National Quality Open Online Course as well as the national engineering master's online course, and more than 150,000 students have taken the course. Prof. Bao won the prize of Jilin University Teaching Achievement and the Excellent Teacher Award of Baosteel. Prof. Bao has published more than 80 research papers and 10 teaching papers as well as 1 academic works. Currently Prof. Prof. His academic services include positions as the executive director of Jilin Ecological Society and the director of Jilin Grassland Society.
